ED MOSES (1926-2018) Culver Tract A Sec 2 signed with the artist's initials and dated 'EM 73-74' (on the reverse) laminated tissue with Rhoplex and pigment 71 1 ⁄ 2 x 84 in. (181.6 x 213.4 cm.) Executed in 1973-1974.

In July last year Christies in New York held the auction First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Culver Tract A Sec 2 by Ed Moses. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,380.00 (€ 16,055.68), 37% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ed Moses - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lift, 1991, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 60,075.00 (€ 53,883.76).

Im Juli letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion First Open | Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Culver Tract A Sec 2 von Ed Moses zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 16.055,68) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ed Moses mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lift, 1991 beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 60.075,00 (€ 53.883,76) versteigert wurde.
