Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work My Little Sister, from My Egypt by Ed Baynard was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 780.00 (€ 646.87). Admittedly, works by Ed Baynard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Quarter Moon in August this year with an auction result of USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,314.14).
