In May 2003 Christies in New York held the auction Post War and Contemporary Art (Evening Sale), which included the work Housewife (Homemaker) by Duane Hanson. The price achieved of USD 343,500.00 (€ 291,942.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Other works by Duane Hanson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Cowboy was auctioned for USD 428,400.00 (€ 399,217.22).

Im Mai 2003 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Housewife (Homemaker) von Duane Hanson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 343.500,00 (€ 291.942,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben worden.
