Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fountain (Earth Fountain) by Doug Aitken was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,525.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Doug Aitken have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work West in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 326,500.00 (€ 250,460.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fountain (Earth Fountain) von Doug Aitken kam im März 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.525,12) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Doug Aitken auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit West im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 326.500,00 (€ 250.460,26).
