Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Donald Lipski could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Not Built With Hands, Helen C. White changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,656.88) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Donald Lipski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, No.161, which sold at auction in 2009 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,462.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Donald Lipski konnte im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Not Built With Hands, Helen C. White für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.656,88) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Donald Lipski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, No.161 beobachtet, die im 2009 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.462,33) versteigert wurde.
