In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Hombre cargando cesta by Diego Rivera. The »bidding war« ended at USD 100,800.00 (€ 93,933.46), 68% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Rivera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Rivals in November last year with an auction result of USD 14,130,000.00 (€ 13,687,881.43).

Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hombre cargando cesta von Diego Rivera zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 100.800,00 (€ 93.933,46) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Rivera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Rivals im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.130.000,00 (€ 13.687.881,43).
