Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mountainous Landscape by Derwent Lees was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2019. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,231.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derwent Lees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandhills in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 71,083.80).

Die Arbeit Mountainous Landscape von Derwent Lees kam im September 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.231,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derwent Lees erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sandhills im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 71.083,80).
