The work Olive Tree by Derwent Lees was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in March 2016. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,875.00 (€ 14,993.36), 48% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Derwent Lees have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sandhills in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 71,083.80).

Die Arbeit Olive Tree von Derwent Lees wurde im März 2016 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 14.993,36) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Derwent Lees auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sandhills im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 71.083,80).
