Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2016 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art, which included the work Church In A Landscape by Derwent Lees. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,102.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derwent Lees achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sandhills in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 71,083.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Church In A Landscape von Derwent Lees zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.102,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derwent Lees erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sandhills im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 71.083,80).
