Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Giant by Derek Boshier was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,117.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Boshier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,985.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Giant von Derek Boshier kam im Juni 2017 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.117,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Boshier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.985,22).
