Artwork auctioned at five times the upper estimate price
When the work Untitled No. 17 by Derek Boshier was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 2,500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,223.65). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Derek Boshier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About in June 2019 with an auction result of GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,985.22).
Kunstwerk zum Fünffachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Untitled No. 17 von Derek Boshier im November 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 2.500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.223,65) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Derek Boshier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.985,22).
