Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction Modern British Art Day Sale, which included the work Viewer by Derek Boshier. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 73,421.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Derek Boshier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About, which sold at auction in June 2019 for GBP 237,500.00 (€ 266,985.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Viewer von Derek Boshier zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 73.421,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Derek Boshier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man Versus Look, Versus Life, Versus Time, Versus Man About beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für GBP 237.500,00 (€ 266.985,22) versteigert wurde.
