Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work View of a Theatre by Dayanita Singh for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,384.36). This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Dayanita Singh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000 in September last year with an auction result of USD 17,640.00 (€ 18,031.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit View of a Theatre von Dayanita Singh für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.384,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Dayanita Singh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 18.031,28).
