Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calcutta Club Library, Calcutta, 2002 by Dayanita Singh was sold in the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction at Christies in New York in September last year. The price achieved of USD 5,292.00 (€ 5,409.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dayanita Singh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 17,640.00 (€ 18,031.28).

Die Arbeit Calcutta Club Library, Calcutta, 2002 von Dayanita Singh wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.292,00 (€ 5.409,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden.
