Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of USD 5,292.00 (€ 5,409.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dayanita Singh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 17,640.00 (€ 18,031.28).
