Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Sati Guptoo’s Bed, Calcutta, 2002 by Dayanita Singh. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 9,659.61), 18% above the upper estimate. Other works by Dayanita Singh have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 17,640.00 (€ 18,031.28) in September last year for the work Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sati Guptoo’s Bed, Calcutta, 2002 von Dayanita Singh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 9.659,61) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Dayanita Singh haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 18.031,28) im September letzten Jahres für die Arbeit Asiatic Library, Bombay, 2000 beobachtet.
