Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Black) by Davis Rhodes was sold in the Under the Influence auction at Phillips in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,281.09) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Davis Rhodes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,993.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Black) von Davis Rhodes wurde im März 2012 in der Auktion Under the Influence bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.281,09) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Davis Rhodes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.993,75) versteigert wurde.
