Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Davis Rhodes was auctioned at Phillips in London in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 563.00 (€ 658.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Davis Rhodes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,993.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Davis Rhodes im Dezember 2016 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 563,00 (€ 658,24) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Davis Rhodes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.993,75).
