Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Davis Rhodes could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in November 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 710.09) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Davis Rhodes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,993.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Davis Rhodes konnte im November 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fast Forward: New Directions in Contemporary Art wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 750,00 (€ 710,09) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Davis Rhodes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 6.993,75).
