Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Salle could be acquired at Phillips in New York in March this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work The Trucks Bring Things changed hands for USD 76,200.00 (€ 70,088.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Salle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mingus in Mexico in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 608,750.00 (€ 694,094.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Salle konnte im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit The Trucks Bring Things für USD 76.200,00 (€ 70.088,30) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Salle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mingus in Mexico im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 608.750,00 (€ 694.094,16).
