In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Buona Vista by David Keeling. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 998.75 (€ 590.01), 66% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Keeling achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work End of The Road, 2002 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 17,220.00 (€ 16,046.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 66 % übertroffen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buona Vista von David Keeling zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 998,75 (€ 590,01) und damit 66% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Keeling erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit End of The Road, 2002 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 17.220,00 (€ 16.046,97).
