Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Vincent Amazon Macaws by David Johnston. The price achieved of GBP 717.00 (€ 1,073.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by David Johnston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Winged Macaw in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vincent Amazon Macaws von David Johnston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 717,00 (€ 1.073,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Johnston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Winged Macaw im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47).
