Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lears Macaws by David Johnston was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2004. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,788.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Johnston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Winged Macaw, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lears Macaws von David Johnston kam im März 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.788,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Johnston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Green Winged Macaw beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) versteigert wurde.
