Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vicent Amazon Macaws by David Johnston was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 936.17) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by David Johnston have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Green Winged Macaw in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vicent Amazon Macaws von David Johnston kam im März 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 936,17) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Johnston auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Green Winged Macaw im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47).
