In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Blue Headed Macaws by David Johnston. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,234.05), 49% above the upper estimate. Other works by David Johnston have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47) in November 2000 for the work Green Winged Macaw.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Headed Macaws von David Johnston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.234,05) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von David Johnston haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) im November 2000 für die Arbeit Green Winged Macaw beobachtet.
