Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Blue Headed Macaws by David Johnston. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,788.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Johnston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Green Winged Macaw, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,761.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Blue Headed Macaws von David Johnston zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.788,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Johnston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Green Winged Macaw beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.761,47) versteigert wurde.
