The work The Finished Edge by David Diao was auctioned at Christies in Shanghai in October 2016. It achieved a price of CNY 780,000.00 (€ 105,024.63), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by David Diao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Twin Dragons sold at auction in May 2019 with the realized price of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 143,062.16).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von CNY 780.000,00 (€ 105.024,63) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von David Diao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Twin Dragons im Mai 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 143.062,16).
