Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Lucian Freud and Frank Auerbach at the V&A by David Dawson. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,450.84) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by David Dawson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images of Lucien Freud at Work in October this year with an auction result of USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lucian Freud and Frank Auerbach at the V&A von David Dawson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.450,84) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Dawson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images of Lucien Freud at Work im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41).
