Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work (I) The Painter In His Chair (Ii) The Painter'S Boots by David Dawson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,328.46) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Dawson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images of Lucien Freud at Work, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 12,700.00 (€ 12,017.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit (I) The Painter In His Chair (Ii) The Painter'S Boots von David Dawson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.328,46) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von David Dawson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected Images of Lucien Freud at Work beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 12.700,00 (€ 12.017,41) versteigert wurde.
