Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Works: i) Blake's Dilemma, 2002; ii) Hidden Roots, 2002 by David Byrne for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,022.38). This price was achieved in the auction Under the Influence at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by David Byrne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,754.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Works: i) Blake's Dilemma, 2002; ii) Hidden Roots, 2002 von David Byrne für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.022,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Under the Influence bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Byrne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.754,76).
