A top price for David Byrne - as previously expected
In October 2007 Phillips in London held the auction The Marino Golinelli Collection, which included the work Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood by David Byrne. The price achieved of GBP 5,400.00 (€ 7,754.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood is the most expensive artwork by David Byrne that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2007 führte Phillips in London die Auktion The Marino Golinelli Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood von David Byrne zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.400,00 (€ 7.754,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Stairway to Heaven: Blue Blood das teuerste Kunstwerk von David Byrne, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
