In April 2008 Sothebys in Sydney held the auction Important Paintings, which included the work Australian The King by David Boyd. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 50,400.00 (€ 30,493.17), 44% above the upper estimate. Other works by David Boyd have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of AUD 51,045.00 (€ 47,567.79) in May last year for the work Monoliths, 1962.

Im April 2008 führte Sothebys in Sydney die Auktion Important Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian The King von David Boyd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 50.400,00 (€ 30.493,17) und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von David Boyd haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von AUD 51.045,00 (€ 47.567,79) im Mai letzten Jahres für die Arbeit Monoliths, 1962 beobachtet.
