Auction result well in line with expectations

In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work September'S Way by David Bates. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,930.00 (€ 5,950.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Bates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit September'S Way von David Bates zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 5.950,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Bates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
