This artwork by David Bates achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in March this year. In the British and European Art auction, the work The Timber Wagon sold for GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,191.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Bates achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 87 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Bates erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and European Art wurde die Arbeit The Timber Wagon für GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.191,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Bates erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
