Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work Bolivar Lighthouse by David Bates. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,461.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Bates - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).
