Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Crawfisherman by David Bates. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,820.00 (€ 7,572.77). Admittedly, works by David Bates have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trucks and Trailers, 1991 in September last year with an auction result of USD 60,855.00 (€ 62,204.85).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crawfisherman von David Bates zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.820,00 (€ 7.572,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Bates auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Trucks and Trailers, 1991 im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.855,00 (€ 62.204,85).
