Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Colour Chart No 67 (Blue), 20.09.13 by David Batchelor. The price achieved of GBP 7,250.00 (€ 10,278.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by David Batchelor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Brick Lane Remix I, which sold at auction in October 2013 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,504.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Colour Chart No 67 (Blue), 20.09.13 von David Batchelor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.250,00 (€ 10.278,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von David Batchelor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Brick Lane Remix I beobachtet, die im Oktober 2013 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.504,78) versteigert wurde.
