Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2012 Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work I Love Kings Cross and Kings Cross Loves Me, 4 by David Batchelor. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,764.47), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by David Batchelor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brick Lane Remix I in October 2013 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,504.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit I Love Kings Cross and Kings Cross Loves Me, 4 von David Batchelor zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.764,47) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Batchelor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brick Lane Remix I im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.504,78).
