Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints, which included the work The Tree at the Edge of the World, Sabmar, La Dahesa, El Hierro, March, 2002-2004 by Craigie Horsfield. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,066.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Craigie Horsfield - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Casa Comalat, Avinguda Diagonal, Barcelona, December 1995, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,714.56).
