The work Indian Warrior by Colin Self was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in March 2019. The result of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,901.67) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin Self - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Study For A Diorama, Possibly Including Mickey Mouse, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,051.81).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Indian Warrior von Colin Self wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Made in Britain bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.901,67) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Colin Self mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Study For A Diorama, Possibly Including Mickey Mouse beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.051,81) versteigert wurde.
