Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Three Up by Clement Meadmore was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 11,250.00 (€ 8,750.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Clement Meadmore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Upcast in September 2008 with an auction result of USD 134,500.00 (€ 95,518.78).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Three Up von Clement Meadmore wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 8.750,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Clement Meadmore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Upcast im September 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 134.500,00 (€ 95.518,78).
