Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Claude Hayes could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Watercolours & Drawings auction, the work On The Norfolk Coast changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 509.56) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Claude Hayes konnte im Dezember 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British & Continental Watercolours & Drawings wechselte die Arbeit On The Norfolk Coast für GBP 375,00 (€ 509,56) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch fishing boats im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.680,00 (€ 6.120,01).
