Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Gathering in the hay; and Rounding up the flock by Claude Hayes. The price achieved of GBP 298.75 (€ 447.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gathering in the hay; and Rounding up the flock von Claude Hayes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 298,75 (€ 447,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250,00 – 350,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch fishing boats im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.680,00 (€ 6.120,01).
