Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A horse and rider in a rural landscape by Claude Hayes was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 493.50 (€ 784.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Claude Hayes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
