In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Farmers watering their carthorses by Claude Hayes. The result of GBP 300.00 (€ 445.57) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farmers watering their carthorses von Claude Hayes zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 300,00 (€ 445,57) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch fishing boats im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.680,00 (€ 6.120,01).
