Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work The marshes, Dunwich by Claude Hayes for GBP 258.50 (€ 374.47). This price was achieved in the auction British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Hayes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch fishing boats in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 3,680.00 (€ 6,120.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The marshes, Dunwich von Claude Hayes für GBP 258,50 (€ 374,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Hayes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch fishing boats im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.680,00 (€ 6.120,01).
