Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Murder Mystery by Cindy Sherman for USD 269,000.00 (€ 207,114.26). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 280,000.00 – 350,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cindy Sherman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #93 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2013 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Murder Mystery von Cindy Sherman für USD 269.000,00 (€ 207.114,26) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 280.000,00 – 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #93 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16).
