Auction result misses estimated price range

In June 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Sigh (From The Seven Poems Series) by Christopher Wilmarth for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,362.02). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Wilmarth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Street Leaf #4 in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
