Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mobile #2 by Christian Holstad was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,671.91). Admittedly, works by Christian Holstad have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maid's Chariot in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 34,800.00 (€ 25,867.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mobile #2 von Christian Holstad im April 2017 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.671,91) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christian Holstad auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maid's Chariot im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 34.800,00 (€ 25.867,84).
