Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work I. D&G Ii. Chutes And Ladders by Christian Holstad was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 313.00 (€ 355.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Holstad achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Maid's Chariot in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 34,800.00 (€ 25,867.84).
