This artwork by Chris Burden achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2016. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction, the work Deluxe Photo Book: 1971-73 sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 39,290.53) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chris Burden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Warship in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 502,000.00 (€ 450,830.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chris Burden erzielte im Mai 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Deluxe Photo Book: 1971-73 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 39.290,53) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chris Burden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Warship im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 502.000,00 (€ 450.830,71).
